About the Kingdom Scholarship
Are you studying at an educational institution in Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, the Netherlands, or St. Maarten, and would you like to participate in an internship or study exchange somewhere else within the Kingdom of the Netherlands for a period of two to six months as part of a recognised study programme? Then you can apply for a Kingdom Scholarship for this period. The allocation of Kingdom Scholarships is based on a draw. The Kingdom Scholarship is provided to you as a grant.
- Fulltime students at the Erasmus University Rotterdam;
- Going on study or internship to Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao or St. Maarten;
- The period of the internship or study exchange is a minimum of two and a maximum of six months;
- The study exchange is a compulsory or extra-curricular part of the programme you are following. The internship is a compulsory part of the programme you are following;
- You completed all courses in the first year of study. This requirement does not apply to students pursuing a master's degree;
- You did not simultaneously apply for an NL Scholarship or Kingdom BPV for the internship or study exchange;
- You have not previously received the Kingdom Scholarship;
- Submit a complete application with supporting documents.
- The application for the Kingdom Scholarship is received within the stipulated period for your internship or study exchange via koninkrijksbeurs@rijksdienstcn.com
Applicable to:
- Nationalities: You have the Dutch nationality or are eligible for a student grant on the basis of your residence permit. The following applies to residence permits:
- You have a residence status equivalent to Dutch nationality based on a treaty or decree.
- You live in the European Netherlands and, according to the Order in Council, you belong to a designated group of persons who have the same status as someone with Dutch nationality in terms of study grants.
- Partcipating faculties: all faculties
- Level of study: Bachelor & Master

Submit the following documentation via koninkrijksbeurs@rijksdienstcn.com:
- Completely filled in Application Kingdom Scholarship form
- Completely filled in Declaration Educational Institution form (filled and signed by your exchange office or internship coordinator)
- Copy of passport or residence permit in case you do not have the Dutch nationality (passport number and BSN are shielded*)
- Certificate of enrolment at educational institution (download through Osiris)
* To shield your passport details, you can use the KopieID app.
Deadlines: 15 May 2024 | 15 October 2024 | 15 May 2025 | 15 October 2025
Within six weeks after the above dates, all students who submitted an (complete) application will receive a decision on the acceptance or rejection of their application based on an independent draw.
