dr. (Martyn) HM Mulder

Biography

[Note that the system ignores the possibility that people go by their second name] Martyn Mulder taught mathematics and operations research at the Econometric Institute since 1989. He retired in January 2014. He was visiting professor at Leiden University, at the Open Universiteit of the Netherlands and at COCMA Utrecht. From 1980 until 1989 his teaching was in history and philosophy of science at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. He obtained his PhD in 1980 at this university. His PhD-thesis "The Interval Function of a Graph" is one of the most cited math-theses in the Netherlands. Since then he has published extensively in graph theory with sixty co-authors from more than ten countries, on four continents. His research has found applications in location theory, voting theory, consensus theory, mathematical biology, chemistry and literary theory. Recipient of the Lecturer of the Year Award of the ESE in 2002. After 2002 nominated for this award another six times.
