prof.dr. IN (Isabelle) Fabbricotti

Biography

Isabelle Fabbricotti is Professor of Integrated Care at the research group Health Services Management and Organization at the Institute of Health Policy & Management, Erasmus University Rotterdam. Her main field of expertise is integrated care and new care arrangements such as integrated delivery systems, and integrated care-chains. Fabbricotti has extensive experience with the evaluation of large-scale, complex, and multidisciplinary interventions. She is and has been involved in experimental and intervention-focused studies in the field of care for the (frail) elderly, dementia, stroke, COPD and hip fractures. She received the Prof. Dr. Burema prize for a comparative study into the quality of care and the consumption of care in old people’s homes, nursing homes and homes suited to all ages. Fabbricotti is also involved in research on the relationship between patients, formal and informal caregivers, medical leadership and the use of ICT and eHealth to improve care delivery, and the quality of care. She was project leader of the work package of the experiment of the Horizon 2020 ACCRA-project, a project on the agile cocreation of robotics for older persons. Her current research also focusses on the integration of social and medical care, integrated care pathways for prostate cancer, rehabilitation and lifestyle in maternity care. In her research she uses qualitative, quantitative and mix-methods designs as well as co-creation designs. Fabbricotti holds a master degree in Health Sciences from the Erasmus University Rotterdam and a doctorate from the same institution.
