dr. (Arthur) A Feinberg

Biography

Arthur Feinberg is a Postdoctoral researcher interested in community resilience and currently working at the Rotterdam School of Management (RSM), Erasmus University.

He is specialized in analysing the institutional and behavioural dynamics within and around community initiatives which aim to achieve more resilience. What motivates their participants? How to build a convivial and fertile ground for collective action? What are their possible socio-economic models and prospects for scalability? Those are some of the key questions to be answered for such initiatives that have been building alternatives to better answer the large social, economic or environmental challenges of our times.

Before joining RSM, Arthur worked as a public servant in a regional government body in France, supporting community initiatives in rural and mountain areas, in direct application of his earlier PhD research. In 2015 he also worked as a technology developer in an ETH Zurich spin-off to build a prototype of a GIS web platform for community initiatives caring for urban biodiversity.

He holds a PhD from the Delft University of Technology on computational social sciences, and an MSc in environmental sciences and engineering from the Swiss Federal institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL).
