Biography
Amarantha Groen is a Lecturer in the Humanities at Erasmus University College.
Groen teaches courses on all levels within the Humanities department at EUC, including Modernity, Early Modern Political Philosophy, Climate Crisis, as well as Skills Courses such as Academic Writing and Project Development. She recently developed and currently teaches the course Feminist Philosophy.
After her training in Gender and Ethnicity Studies (RMA, 4.0 GPA) and Philosophy (BA, 4.0 GPA, Cum Laude), Groen moved to New York where she completed a 2-year acting conservatory program at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting, and continued to work for their Outreach Division at Manhattan Detention Center.
Groen wrote her Master thesis on the potentials of (philosophical) wonder for feminist theory, and her current research interests are located at the intersections of (feminist) philosophy, feminist pedagogy, phenomenology, queer theory, critical theory and new materialism.
