Wendy Harcourt wins successful bid for a 3.8 million euro grant for the EU 2020 Marie Curie Innovative Training Network Grant for Well-being, Ecology, Gender and Community (WEGO)
Wendy Harcourt will be leading a team of 18 institutions with 15 PhDs in a transnational network, that will develop a shared research and training agenda.
WEGO will bring together young and leading scholars in a major research project which can address urgent environmental issues at the European and global level. WEGO research will look at resilience and sustainability by examining the gendered role of women in care work for the community and for the environment. The cases chosen – from in and outside of Europe - are sites that can feed into innovative European Policy on sustainable development.
Congratulations to Wendy Harcourt, the Coordinator of the Grant, and Marjie Geldof the project officer, for their hard work in putting the grant together. The grant application received a very high score of 98/100. The project contract is now under negotiation with the EU and should start in early 2018.
