Twenty years cooperation between Erasmus University and China

Yesterday, Wednesday 29 August 2018, Erasmus University China Centre (EUCC), celebrated its twentieth anniversary with lectures and speeches highlighting the cooperation with China. The centre was established in 1998 with Professor Lammerts van Bueren as first chairman and Professor Hans de Doelder as second chairman with the purpose to support and stimulate the academic cooperation between Erasmus University Rotterdam and its Chinese counterparts.

Over the following years, EUCC, with offices in Rotterdam and Beijing, has evolved into a network organisation in which Dutch and Chinese universities, companies and other organisations participate.

The centre's efforts have not been without results: in the last two decades, EUR has signed eight memoranda of understanding with Chinese top universities, more than fifty Agreements were signed at the school or institute level, fifty Chinese PhDs have graduated and around thirty successful China trips have been organised.
