Student Council for Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (SCEDI)

Gwen de Bruin, Semiha Denktas, Jacqueline Onyenze of IDEA Center with SCEDI (Student Council for Equity, Diversity & Inclusion)

We are excited to introduce you to our Student Council for Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (SCEDI) at Erasmus University Rotterdam. SCEDI was created by the IDEA Center (formerly known as D&I Office) to act as a sounding board for our student body and to incorporate the needs and perspectives of a diverse group of students into D&I policy and projects.

The student council consists of a diverse group of student leaders who try to advocate and raise more awareness for inclusion, equity and diversity throughout the year, through events. You may have seen our SCEDI students at work at Bachelor and Master Open Days, at International Women's Day, during Eureka Week and at many other events.

Community Event on April 13th

On the 13th of April, SCEDI will be hosting IDEA Center’s Community Event in the Theil Hall, from 18:00 till 22:00. This event will bring together students and staff from all walks of life to experience and appreciate each other's cultures and lifestyles. Under the slogan 'Celebrate your Culture’, we invite all students and staff to join us for a fun, festive and inspiring cultural bonanza, featuring networking opportunities, live music, drinks and snacks, and more!

Do you want to join? Please let us know through this link.

Creating a more inclusive and equitable campus community

In addition to organizing events, SCEDI collaborates with other student and study associations and networks to promote inclusion and equity across the campus community. SCEDI also supports the university's efforts to create a more inclusive and diverse environment by providing input and feedback on policies and programs related to inclusion, equity and diversity.

SCEDI believes that everyone has a role to play in creating a more inclusive and equitable campus community. We encourage you to get involved with SCEDI and participate in their events to help promote a welcoming and respectful environment for all.

We look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events.
