Strong increase in live music but still little diversity

Unique monitor gives insight into 12 years of live music in the Netherlands

On January 19, 2022, the Dutch Live Music Monitor 2008-2019 was launched. This POPLIVE report contains facts, figures and analyses based on almost 300.000 live pop performances in the Netherlands during twelve years.

Among other things, the monitor describes the development of pop venues and festivals in general, artist’s live careers, indexes of the most healthy live music cities, venues and festivals and trends in relation to genre and gender in live music.

In a panel at the Eurosonic conference, POPLIVE-researcher Martijn Mulder launched the report, presented the most interesting results and discussed these with a panel of Dutch music industry professionals. More information about the Eurosonic panel can be found the ESNS conference page.

The monitor is published by ERMeCC. The full report and more information can be found on the website of POPLIVE.
