The recent events concerning transgressive behaviour force us to reiterate that we, Erasmus University Rotterdam, will never accept such behaviour.
Based on our core values, we as a university stand for a pleasant, safe and healthy working and study environment. Everyone is, therefore responsible for good manners. Nevertheless, students, staff and researchers may encounter behaviour of others that they experience as undesirable.
Unacceptable behaviour is a broad concept that includes aggression, violence, bullying, (sexual) intimidation, harassment, and discrimination. There is absolutely no room for this at our university. At all levels, from the Board of Governors to the shop floor of education and research, we must spread this message. We see it as an important task to act as appropriately as possible in the case of alleged undesirable behaviour.
