Security company Securitas will take care of campus security at the Erasmus University Rotterdam from 1 July 2022 onwards. The onboarding process for Securitas employees has already started, which means that in the coming period you may encounter additional security staff at Campus Woudestein, at Erasmus University College and at ISS in The Hague.
European Tender definitively awarded
The contract for security services with current partner Trigion ends in June 2022. Therefore, the department of Real Estate & Facilities has organized a European Tender, of which the result is now final: From 1 July 2022 onwards security company Securitas will be responsible for campus security at Campus Woudestein, Erasmus University College and ISS in The Hague. This also means that, after a wonderful cooperation of over 50 years, Trigion will leave the locations of the Erasmus University Rotterdam.
Security staff with a buddy
Before Trigion can hand over the baton to Securitas in July, the new security staff must first be properly trained. Therefore, as of 16 May 2022, a transition process with a buddy construction has begun. This means that the Securitas staff will accompany the Trigion staff in order to get to know the surroundings and procedures. Therefore, it is possible that you will see extra security or hospitality staff walking around at Campus Woudestein, Erasmus University College and ISS in The Hague, or that you will encounter security staff in two different uniforms.
Future ambitions
The new cooperation agreement formulates strong ambitions that contribute to a safe, pleasant and familiar campus. More details will be announced in the near future, so keep an eye on the website for news and updates.
