On 10 March 2017, the VGN (Dutch history teachers' association) organizes the second National History Education Conference at Erasmus University - in cooperation with the history department of the Erasmus School of History, Culture and Communication.
Civic education
The theme of the conference is History Education and civic education. It is expected that civic education will be one of the main goals of future Dutch education and this conference explores an debates the relationship between history education and civic education.
Speakers
Siep Stuurman (UU/EUR) and Jan Drentje (RUG) will be the main speakers. On behalf of Erasmus University Rotterdam Paul van de Laar, Gijsbert Oonk and Robbert-Jan Adriaansen will also contribute. The afternoon consists of various workshops for history teachers.
