MEL and Econometric Institute secure their collaboration

MEL en het Econometrisch Instituut effectueren samenwerking

On Monday 28 November 2016 a contract signing took place that provides a multiannual cooperation between the Econometric Institute and the Erasmus Center for Maritime Economics and Logistics (MEL). The Econometric Institute offers MEL support with their (postgraduate) education and research in the field of maritime economics and logistics.

The Econometric Institute provides two PhD students for practical and fundamental research in the field of port logistics in general. This includes research into the effects of ultra large container ships on the performance of terminals and also optimizing hinterland transport.

Managing Director Bert de Groot (left) signed the agreement on behalf of MEL, Dean Philip Hans Franses (middle) and department director Patrick Groenen (right) did so on behalf of the Econometric Institute of Erasmus School of Economics.
