ISS and Bahir Dar University meet to discuss joint PhD and research opportunities.
On 5 July 2017, a delegation from Bahir Dar University in Ethiopia met with ISS rector, Professor Inge Hutter and Deputy Rector, Professor Wil Hout to discuss opportunities for:
support to the Bahir Dar University PhD programme in Social Sciences in general and Political Science and International Studies in particular;
collaboration in research on issues like migration, conflict, water and climate change.
The delegation included:
- Embiale Beyene (second from right on photo), Executive Director for Academic Affairs of Bahir Dar University (leader of the delegation)
- Gebretsadik Awgichew (extreme right of photo), Head of the Department of Political Science and International Studies;
- Wuhibegezer Ferede (extreme left of photo); researcher at Blue Nile Water Institute and lecturer at the Department of Political Science and International Studies who graduated from ISS in 2007.
