"I choose to challenge the status quo and make a sustainable change."

In our mini- documentary series, 'The Future of Women', EUR asks some of our thought leaders from across our community about their views and the key issues facing women in the post-COVID world. In five videos, we explore issues ranging from socio-economic inequality, to our future leaders studying within our institution.

The next theme to discuss is Crisis Leadership. With a global climate crisis and the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, this topic may be more relevant than ever. What is important when assessing leadership? And what qualities do women bring to the table in situations of crisis?

We discuss these themes with Jeannette Baljeu, ESE-alumna, VVD politician and member of the European Committee of the Regions. With over 15 years of working experience in the ministry of Economic Affairs and being the first female alderman for the Port of Rotterdam, Jeannette is currently representative of South-Holland and is highly involved in the sustainable transformation of the province. Watch this episode to learn more about Jeannette and her view on crisis leadership.
