The past year, in which most of our educational activities were offered online, has demonstrated that meeting your teachers and collaborating with fellow students in the classroom and on campus, is a crucial element of the excellent education we aim to offer. Following the position of the Dutch Ministry of Education and considering the progress of the vaccination campaign in the Netherlands, EUR currently envisages a scenario in which most of the educational activities can be resumed on campus after the summer break.
The health and safety of our students and teachers always lie at the core of our decisions, as we closely follow the measures and guidelines of the Dutch government and the National Institute for Public Health (RIVM).
Enrolment in regular bachelor and master programmes
Considering the above, degree students enrolled in regular bachelor and master programmes at EUR, are expected to come and study on campus during the academic year 2021-2022. We look forward to welcoming you, and to helping you prepare for a carefree start of your studies. We offer a range of orientation activities that will help you settle in as a new international student. More information can be found here.
It is not mandatory to be vaccinated when travelling to the Netherlands. However, if you have the possibility of being vaccinated (with a WHO-approved vaccine) before travelling to the Netherlands, that would be advisable and might make traveling subject to lesser restrictions. International students who were not vaccinated in their country of origin can become part of the Dutch Government’s vaccination campaign after having registered at the Municipality upon arrival in the Netherlands. More information can be found here.
Exceptions
- If you are an international student and you are unable to come to our on-campus classes at the start of the semester due to possible national, Dutch and/or EU travel restrictions, we will make sure you can follow your classes online until the restrictions are lifted. Check the checklist for travel to the Netherlands.
- Students do not have to come to Rotterdam immediately for programs that are still taught online-only in the first semester. This applies to MSc Health Sciences, research master Health Sciences, and research master Clinical Research. Please contact the respective Programme Coordinators for more information.
We remain committed to providing the best possible education under all circumstances and hope this will enable you to realise your study ambitions at the EUR.
