The Erasmus Charity Run, a running-for-charity initiative as part of the Rotterdam Marathon, is postponed. This was announced after, earlier last week, it was made public that the Rotterdam Marathon 2020 is postponed to April 2021. Contestants have already been informed by the organisation of the Rotterdam Marathon.
Rotterdam Marathon 2020
The organisation of the marathon informed that, due to the restrictions regarding COVID-19, it had become impossible to organize an event of this scale. Postponing the Rotterdam Marathon 2020/ Erasmus Charity Run is of course a disappointment for the contestants and donors. At the moment, the organisation is working on a virtual edition of the event. Contestants will be informed about this virtual edition by the organisation of the Rotterdam Marathon.
Starting permits
All purchased starting permits will automatically be transferred to starting permits for the Rotterdam Marathon/ Erasmus Charity Run in 2021. The organisation of the Erasmus Charity Run 2020 is in consultation with the organisation of the Rotterdam Marathon regarding restitution of starting permits for contestants who are unable to join in 2021. Moreover, the Erasmus Charity Run is working on a plan for managing and processing the donations that have been made until now. Contestants and donors will soon be personally informed on this.
Erasmus Charity Run 2021
Given that the situation is still unstable, there is no clear perspective for the Erasmus Charity Run in 2021. It is expected that registration will be opened in September 2020. If contestants have any further questions, they can send an e-mail to charityrun@eur.nl The organisation hopes that all contestants are well and that they will join them for the next Erasmus Charity Run in 2021.
