During the 68th annual conference of the International Communication Association (ICA) in Prague, dr. Simone Driessen received the Top Paper award in the Popular Communication Division. She received the award for her paper titled ‘Exploring the Meanings of Recurring Reunions and Fandom Across the Life Course’.
The award was handed out by Stephen Harrington, chair of the Popular Communication Division. The ICA Conference was centred around the theme 'Voices' and took place from 24-48 May 2018. Many of our lecturers attended the conference.
Simone obtained her PhD from the Erasmus Research Centre for Media, Communication and Culture in 2017. Her research interests lie in consumption of popular music by different audiences and fandom. The picture was taken by Melissa Aronczyk.
