What happens when you go offline for a week?
Learning for an exam; coffee circles on your desktop, papers with scribbles around you and under those papers your phone. The … phone … is … always … there. Whether you learn, work, sleep or even when you go to the toilet. But what happens when you go offline in this world that is always online? Do you still exist at all? For many years, philosopher Hans Schnitzler has been conducting an experiment with his students at De Bildung Academy: a week-long digital detox. This detox makes all kinds of interesting insights visible and prompts us to think about our digital condition. In this lunch lecture of our Studium Generale TU Delft colleagues he delves deeper into the meaning of the experiences of his students.
