Dates power disruptions on north side of the campus

As communicated earlier (see MyEUR), the main current distributors supplying power to the Tinbergen building will be connected at a new location prior to renovation work on this building. At the same time, asbestos remediation work in the crawl-space/basement under this building may also be carried out. Additionally, three old transformers will be replaced. This will affect all buildings on the north side of the campus with the exception of the Tinbergen Building itself.

Power grid voltage

In order to safely carry out the work on the old transformers, power to the electricity grid will be cut off, resulting in a power interruption in the buildings listed below.

The interruption will be brief unless problems are encountered. In that case the power interruption may last longer.

Precautionary measures

We would ask that you take the following necessary precautionary measures before the power interruption occurs:

• Unplug chargers and other small appliances (including kitchen appliances) once the appliance has been turned off.
• Turn computers and printers off and unplug them from the regular electrical outlets. Any equipment left on must be restarted afterwards. Shut down computers. Damage may occur to computers if they are turned off abruptly without using the shutdown procedure.
• Remove or relocate perishable foods or medication stored in the refrigerator.

Power interruption per building

The power interruptions will be coordinated to cause minimum disruption. All the buildings involved will be closed to employees and students. See the overview below for when a power interruption in a building is scheduled.
