Two RGHI-members that focus their research on countries in the Global South, attended a conclave in New Delhi conducted between January 11-13, 2024.
The researchers in question are Arjun Bedi, Professor of Development Economics and Deputy Rector for Research at the International Institute of Social Studies of Erasmus University Rotterdam, and Anagaw Mebratie, Assistant Professor of Health Economics, School of Public Health at Addis Ababa University. The conclave was titled, Advancing Human Development in the Global South”, and was attended by more than 400 policy makers and academics from around the world. Bedi and Mebratie participated in a session on health seeking behavior. They also presented a paper titled,”Social Health Insurance and Healthcare Seeking Behavior in Urban Ethiopia”. Which they wrote in collaboration with several other researchers.
