University administration

"The EUR has become an important part of my life these last years. It is a fantastic university in a dynamic city with a strong profile and an ambition that matters - achieving real societal impact through scientific strength. An ambition with which I identify and which I gladly support. It is therefore a privilege to be able to contribute here, together with so many talented employees. It is considerations in my private life that, after a total of 15 years as a university administrator, lead me to choose a future where I can afford more time and attention to those dear to me. I will remain fully committed to EUR and her future, until my final day as Chairman of the Executive Board", says Ed Brinksma.

Jaap Winter, Chairman of the Supervisory Board: "Ed Brinksma has brought great energy and commitment to our university. Ed fostered harmony in the university administration and led the university in what were often turbulent times, such as the Covid period. He is a driving force in the implementation of the university’s strategy, the furthering of convergence with both the Erasmus Medical Centre and the TU Delft, and the Cultural Campus and UNIC, and will remain so in the coming months. The Supervisory Board is particularly grateful to Ed Brinksma for what he has done for the University in recent years."

The Supervisory Board is considering how to fill the resulting vacancy and will make further announcements about this in the near future.
