Better legislation needed for quality of accountants

Legislation for accountants is mostly ad hoc and created under time pressure. Hence, the quality of the legislation is reduced, according to Mr Drs Eva Eijkelenboom in her dissertation about measures in the past years that were of great influence for the profession of the accountant. "Think first, then handle", according to Eijkelenboom. "The future of the profession benefits from well-substantiated changing proposals." She will promote on Friday 24 May at Erasmus University Rotterdam.
