On Friday 4 December 2020, R. Poelstra will defend his PhD dissertation, entitled: ‘Dupuytren’s Disease: More Than Extension Deficit’.

This thesis explored various outcome measures in Dupuytren’s disease and their relationship with patient and disease characteristics and treatment outcomes in order to better understand what matters to patients with Dupuytren’s disease and what is important in the treatment of their disease. To do so, this thesis is structured in four parts:

1. introduction of the Hand and Wrist Cohort

2. psychology and context

3. treatment and outcome

4. predicting outcome

Due to corona, the PhD defences do not take place publicly in the usual way in the Senate Hall of the Professor Andries Querido Room. The candidates will defend their dissertation either in a small group or online.
