Why do Muslims fast during Ramadan?
Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, is a sacred month during which Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset. Fasting in Ramadan involves not only physical abstinence from eating and drinking but also serves as a time for reflection, spirituality, community, and the month in which the Quran was revealed.
Iftar at Erasmus University Rotterdam
In line with the rich tradition of communal celebrations, Erasmus University Rotterdam invites you to the largest Iftar ever organized by the university. The Iftar offers an opportunity to come together, break the fast, and enjoy a shared meal. Through this initiative, we aim to contribute to a better understanding of the diverse religious and cultural backgrounds within our university community.
