Geo-politics: through the eyes of France and Germany
Current affairs lecture by the French and German Ambassadors
World and societies are in turmoil. Think of Brexit, populist movements, growing social discontent, huge challenges like the ongoing migration and climate crises, tensions with Russia, the rise of China or the changing relations with the USA. 2019 will for sure be a crucial year in geo-politics and for the future of the European Union.
How do France and Germany perceive these challenges? What are their plans and ideas to deal with them? With the outcome of the very recent European elections in mind, both the French and German Ambassador to the Netherlands, Philippe Lalliot and Dirk Brengelmann, will share their views on the current global issues and the future of Europe, with an extensive Q&A session. Moderation: Professor Kees van Paridon.
A special ‘peek behind the diplomatic scenes’ from both the French and German perspectives.
