Erasmus Data Summit 2025: How AI creates customisation for everyone

Cyclist cycles along Coolsingel in Rotterdam.

On April 10, 2025, the Erasmus Centre for Data Analytics (ECDA) will host the sixth Erasmus Data Summit. This edition focuses on the growing influence of AI-driven hyper-personalization - increasingly tailoring services and products to individual needs. In an 'n=1' society, the individual experience is central rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.

Personalized healthcare, tailored education, more valuable engagement with stakeholders - AI promises unparalleled opportunities. These developments, however, also raise important questions: How do we ensure that personalization does not come at the cost of community and social cohesion?

The balance between these benefits

This year’s summit will critically explore the balance between these benefits and risks by addressing key societal topics like:

  • The impact of AI on teachers and professionals – how does automation and digitization reshape their roles?
  • Digital sovereignty and public values – how can we protect our autonomy and core values in an AI-driven world?
  • Digital literacy and inclusion – how do we ensure equal access to technology in an 'n=1' society?
  • AI and government – how should the digital government adapt to citizens who are increasingly addressed in a personalized way?
  • AI and healthcare – how can AI contribute to well-being, and what risks does it pose?
  • The legal aspect of an ‘n=1’ society – what challenges arise in privacy, fairness, and accountability when AI personalizes services to the extreme?

Whether you work in academia, business, healthcare, or for a governmental organization, you will receive the newest AI insights from renowned academic and industry experts.
