PhD candidate Job Hudig investigates the study success and wellbeing of students in higher education. To better understand student differences in this regard, he developed the motivational mindset model (MMM).
During the presentation, he shares his findings on this new perspective of student motivation. In addition, Job conducts research on the goal-setting intervention. This is an intervention at the beginning of the first year that encourages students to reflect on personal life goals. Several studies have shown that the goal-setting intervention improves study success. However, the underlying mechanism has not yet been empirically demonstrated. Job presents his findings on what could be the role of the MMM in the effectiveness of the intervention.
