In today's era we face endless problematics: from the climate crisis to lack of global health care and poverty, we must make choices for our future and the generations to come. The major in Sustainability has equipped me with vast strands of knowledge to fight these issues. Courses like the climate crisis, food and nutrition, and my minor choices in global poverty (an ISS minor) and geo-resources for the future (an LDE minor) have enlightened me with boundless knowledge I previously did not have.

Having a major centred around Sustainability is essential to political, healthcare, and business practices. There are a couple of years left to make a difference, and with the extremely passionate staff, and an engaging curriculum, this major is a great fit to start understanding what our global issues are as well as some possibilities to solve them.

My experience with this major was unexpected. During my first year at EUC, I took the course the climate crisis as an elective, and after completing it, I decided my goal was to leave this world better than how I found it with the help of the Sustainability major. EUC will give you a general overview of many societal issues we face, reason why I enjoyed my studies extensively.

The world as we knew it is changing. Technology is advancing at unbelievable rates, the globe is warming unstoppably, global poverty is rising again for the first time in 25 years due to COVID-19, and +-20% of the world holds 80% of all the wealth. This major will open your eyes, give you crucial knowledge for anyone living in this century, and will allow many possibilities to take by the side of your studies like minoring at other universities during your third year and having enriching experiences during your courses. Let’s make planet Earth and humanity great again!
