Alumna Clinical Psychology
I chose the psychology master clinical training track at EUR because of the practical courses that were offered. For me, it was most important to receive a lot of education and practice in the field of clinical psychology as I always knew I wanted to become a psychotherapist. By means of role play with my fellow students, I have learned how to conduct a couple’s interview, a sexual anamnesis, and apply the methods of cognitive behavioural therapy. These were valuable exercises which have provided me with insight into the therapeutic work making it more accessible to me, besides that it was a lot of fun too. It helped me to picture myself as the therapist I could be one day. Now looking back at my master I must say that I have enjoyed every course, even statistics. In my opinion, the master’s programme was a great preparation to tackle challenges such as the master thesis and the practical internship. Especially, the course “Personality Disorders” was very helpful for me when doing an internship at a clinic for patients with mainly borderline personality disorder. I am very happy that I have studied at EUR, a university that is international, integrative, open-minded, and holds what it promises.
For my future: next year, I am starting the training to become a psychotherapist in Germany. I am looking forward to deepening the knowledge I have gathered at EUR and apply it in real life.
