All in all, this master has made me a more capable researcher with extensive knowledge about the psychology of digital media.

Alumnus Psychology of the Digital Media - current position is Client Success Manager at Respondenten.nl
Before starting the master programme ‘Psychology of the Digital Media’ at the Erasmus University Rotterdam I did an internship at MetrixLab to gain experience doing market research. I chose to do this internship on my own initiative after finalizing my bachelor ‘International Leisure Studies’. During my internship at MetrixLab I found out that doing market research gives me a lot of energy and I really enjoy doing it. However, whilst at MetrixLab, COVID-19 struck and the company did not have the opportunity to hire me. At that moment I decided to pick up a master and ended up at Erasmus. Although at first I was disappointed I could not yet start my professional career in market research, doing this master ended up being one of the best decisions I have made.
This master tackles many of the topics and problems we are faced with in our daily lives nowadays. Be it taking an online course, working from home, or facing the challenges of social media. Each course feels connected to the real world and some of the things I learned were applicable to my own life as well. I would recommend this master to anyone remotely interested in the topics of the psychology of the digital media. For my thesis, I specifically chose the focus on the topic of misinformation and source credibility. This has been such an interesting topic to work on and I am very proud of my final product. The guidance provided during my thesis was excellent and my supervisor Steven Verheyen helped me set up a study which used a design previously unexplored in this field. This made the study challenging at times but also very exciting. All in all, this master has made me a more capable researcher with extensive knowledge about the psychology of digital media. I am sure that the research skills I have developed during this master will help me in my professional career in the market research field.
After graduating I was able to find a suitable position very quickly. I am currently employed at Respondenten.nl as a Client Success Manager. Within this role, I manage market research projects for the clients of Respondenten.nl. It excites me very much to work on projects which give valuable insights for the clients. Whatever the future may bring for me, I will always be proud that I have completed this master.
