I chose this programme because of the participation of students from other countries. It is very interesting to have different perspectives from countries and cultures all over the world.
Myrthe van Delden
Alumna Governance and Management in the Public Sector
During the last year of my bachelor degree I figured out that complex problems with which we have to deal as a society are the kind of problems I am interested in. For example the problems which are caused by the huge group of refugees coming to Europe nowadays, energy transition or sustainable improvements in neighbourhoods that have to deal with a disproportionately high crime rate. These kind of complex societal problems we face nowadays are examined in this master programme. The programme provides useful knowledge in order to understand, analyse and approach these issues. What I really appreciate about this master programme is the connection to the world outside academia. While we discuss many theories, the theoretical knowledge is always linked to real cases. These governance labs enable an academic perspective on complexity and ways to manage networks, in addition to a more practical perspective. Furthermore, real cases give different and useful insights.
Next to the governance labs and the topic of the master programme, I chose this programme because of the small group of international students. Is very interesting to have different perspectives from countries and cultures all over the world. In addition, I think it is a great advantage to obtain an English Master’s degree, especially when you are Dutch like me.
I can highly recommend this master programme. It will give you the knowledge and skills you need to be able to analyse and deal with societal complex problems and manage networks. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me via the contact form on the website.
