If you are a non-EU/EEA international student staying in the Netherlands for more than 90 days, and you have the nationality of a country listed under Option 1 from the this page.
- It is an official Dutch government document that allows you to (temporarily) reside in the Netherlands legally during your studies;
- It is always issued for a specific purpose of stay, in your case: study;
- As long as your Dutch residence permit is valid you are free to travel from, and return to, the Netherlands. You can also make short trips to other Schengen countries.
- Your immigration process is handled by Team Immigration (EUR) and your admission process by your faculty. This means that we help students with a conditional (e.g. pending graduation) and unconditional offer after we are informed by your faculty. Having an immigration case does not automatically mean that your conditional offer is now unconditional, always refer to the admission team of your faculty for questions regarding admission. Team immigration has no knowledge about your admission process and/or deadlines.
- Your documents cannot be older than 3 months
- Submitting your immigration documents on time (before the deadline) is part of your enrollment request, failing to submit your documents and pay your invoice on time
- Before we start the immigration application, you must fulfill the payment obligations. The invoice you will receive consists of:
- Your studies (the tuition fee differs per study programme);
- The immigration fee;
- The costs of living in the Netherlands (which is €1.235 for every month of your stay in the Netherlands).
- You provide translations by a certified translator (e.g. notary) for all documents that are not in Dutch, English, French or German;
- You agree to tuberculosis testing if required, and if needed treatment, upon arrival in the Netherlands;
- You do not have a criminal record. Click here to sign the Antecedents certificate.
- You have a valid passport.
- Your educational institution is a recognized sponsor. Recognized educational institutions, such as the Erasmus University Rotterdam, are listed in the Public Register of Recognised Sponsors.
- In order to apply for a residence permit and during the validity of your study residence permit you must comply with the rules, regulations, and conditions. Click here for regulations procedure of the recognized sponsor (EUR) and here for the rules and conditions for your study residence permit.
- You are a student at a university or university of applied sciences to a full-time accredited study programme.
- You obtain at least 50% of the required credits for each academic year. This is called study progress monitoring. Do you need a preparatory period (premaster)? You must then complete this programme within 12 months. Click here for the declaration of intent for the study progress monitoring.
