Bleddyn Davies Prize is awarded to Margot Hermus, Arwin van Buuren and Victor Bekkers

Each year Policy & Politics rewards researchers in the field of public policy for their research papers. This year’s Bleddyn Davies Prize has been rewarded to Margot Hermus, prof. dr. Arwin van Buuren and prof. dr. Victor Bekkers of ESSB. The prize acknowledges scholarship of the very highest standard by an early career academic.

Policy & Politics is a leading international journal in its field. Hermus, van Buuren and Bekkers were able to receive the award for their paper ‘Applying design in public administration: a literature review to explore the state of the art’. Their paper aims to contribute to the debate on the value of design for public administration. The paper also looks at the development of the public administration by conducting a systematic literature review. In the jury report the paper was described as ‘In this outstanding paper, the winner of the prize for the best paper published in 2020 by an early career researcher Margot Hermus, along with colleagues, Arwin Van Buuren and Viktor Bekkers, present a state-of-the-art analysis of public sector design processes from their systematic literature review’.
