Contemporary behavioral health care is facing major challenges

Average waiting time for mental health care has been on the rise. Many people do not receive help in time, leading to health deterioration and eventually higher health and societal costs. Further, access to high-quality care has been increasingly associated with high individual costs, contributing to social disparities and inequalities.

To reduce health care utilization, ensure equitable care access, and improve health outcomes and quality of life, there is a growing need for patient self-management and dynamic personalization of care. This includes patient literacy, self-monitoring, prevention and promoting a healthy lifestyle. Although progress has been made, this has not been widely adopted by traditional behavioral health systems, including both providers and clients.

Collaboration between academia and industry is paramount to research how technological innovations can contribute to solving complex behavioral health issues.

The Future of Behavioral Healthcare

The MindTech Summit aims to catalyze advancements in behavioral healthcare by addressing pressing challenges, promoting innovation and by fostering collaborations between academia and industry. Our ambition is to build strong partnerships to create and commercialize cutting-edge technology solutions in behavioral health care within the next five years.

Key Themes:

  • AI-Driven Solutions: Explore transformative AI applications in behavioral health.
  • Collaboration Challenges: Discuss obstacles in bringing technical solutions to end users.
  • Bridging the Gap: Foster dialogue and partnerships between academia and industry.
