A festival to celebrate, showcase, and present the different nationalities and cultures of our own students with a food fair, workshops, exhibitions, dance, music, theatre, magic, and more! All presented by students and the International and Cultural Student Associations of Erasmus University Rotterdam!

After last year's success, the Connecting Cultures Festival at Campus Woudestein returns during the yearly Week of the International Student!

Day programme

Nothing connects people like the universal language of food. This Food Fair features food stands from over 20 international student associations. Join us to discover tastes from all over the world: from savory to sweet, and everything in between. 

Ticket information: When you reserve a ticket, you’ll receive a stamp card at the entrance of the food fair, giving you the chance to try a number of portions from different stands. To guarantee a stamp card, we recommend ordering your free ticket in advance. However, a number of stamp cards will also be available at the door.

  • Presented by Bulgarian Society Rotterdam (BGSR)

In this workshop you are going to create a traditional flower wreath. This is an activity tied to several of the Bulgarian customs. Alongside this, you also get introduced to the significance of Bulgarian rose oil and learn more about this very specific Bulgarian product.

In this workshop you’re going to learn the traditional embroidery as it is used as decoration on traditional Eastern European clothing.

You will learn different Afro-style dance techniques and learn more about the background of the music and dance originating from Africa.

Look through the lens of our students in the "Urban Culture" exhibition at the Erasmus Paviljoen. Featuring 30 photos, this collection showcases the perspectives of students as they capture the essence of city cultures, whether from their hometowns, places they've traveled to, or cities where they've studied abroad. Each photo reflects the diversity of our international student community and offers a glimpse into the many ways urban culture is experienced across the world.

A spectacular theatre show with music, dance, poetry and theatre, all performed by our own EUR students. The different cultural backgrounds of our students are to be seen and heard in these diverse performances.
