Digital research methods for textual data

With these innovative methods, it is possible to analyse large textual datasets from social media, news articles, interviews, and other sources. In virtually all disciplines in the social sciences and humanities, these techniques are becoming increasingly more popular.

Large-scale register data for quantitative social research

Administrative government registers at Statistics Netherlands (CBS) contain a wide range of large-scale socio-demographic statistics about the Dutch population, including data with regard to place and date of birth, gender, address and citizenship status. This course offers an introduction to using such register data for social research with the emphasis on practical applications.
