The CONNECT mentor programme is an extra programme outside the curriculum (regular education) and runs from September until the Christmas break. The programme is truly meant for students who can use just a little extra help with the transition to university and student life.
How does it work?
New students (mentees) are linked to two mentors (ESSB second-year/third-year or master students) in small groups. These mentors are available for all your questions. They have already experienced their first year(s) at university and are therefore perfectly able to share their experiences, tips and tricks with you. And they are very happy to do so! In addition, CONNECT organizes several events in which you can participate.
For who?
The programme is for first-year students of all bachelors within the ESSB:
- International Bachelor Psychology (EN)
- Management of International Social Challenges (EN)
- Bestuurskunde (NL)
- Sociologie (NL)
- Psychologie (NL)
- Pedagogische Wetenschappen (NL)
Premaster students can also enroll in the programme. These include the premasters of Public Administration, Pedagogical Sciences and Sociology.

Want to quit the programme early? That's always possible, it's a non-binding programme, but please let your mentor and/or the project team know!
