There is no doubt that citizens perceive an injustice in the current housing situation. But what, if anything, is wrong about it?
In this conference we bring together philosophers, urban geographers, practitioners, and activists to talk it through.
Questions concerning the allocation, use and production of urban space, including housing allocation, have been extensively investigated by urban geographers. Scholars and activists alike, highlight that space should not be considered merely as a container of human activities but as a generative force of (in)justice. Unfortunately, philosophers have only recently started dedicating their attention the topic and filling this gap in the literature. The aim of this conference is to facilitate an interdisciplinary discussion and development of spatially laden considerations of justice.
