Introduction
We are Erasmus Language Sharing, or ELS in short. We offer the opportunity to learn more about a language and a culture in an interactive way. All our courses cost only €65! This includes costs for teaching material. The reason that we offer classes that are so affordable is our ‘for students, by students approach’. This allows for semi-professionals, who are EUR students and native speakers in the language they coach, to share their language and culture with other EUR students*.We offer courses three times a year; from October-December; from January to March; and from April to June.
Dutch | Arabic | Spanish |
Portuguese | Korean | French |

* Please note that our lessons are only for students currently enrolled at Erasmus University.
Each trimester lasts 10 weeks and classes are two hours, once a week. They take place at Erasmus University’s campus. The languages are offered at different levels (‘bases’) that you can sign up for depending on how advanced you already are in that language.
Depending on the trimester, we may or may not offer specific languages. On our website, you can find all the languages we offer throughout the year. A specific language may not be available if it did not receive enough sign-ups for that trimester. To see which languages we offer each trimester, keep an eye on our Instagram (@els_erasmus). Additionally, if you are interested in learning or becoming a coach for a language that is not listed on our website, please reach out to us!
Language and culture classes at Erasmus Language Sharing are different from the ones focused on the European Framework (CEFR). This means that upon completion of a course at ELS, students will not receive a certificate of having obtained a certain level (e.g. A1, B1). However, this also means that for ELS classes, there is no final exam to be taken. Instead, during each lesson, (new) elements of vocabulary, grammar, and culture are discussed and practiced through interactive exercises and games.
