Career opportunities

As a Media, Digitalisation & Social Impact graduate, you will be able to lead the conversation about digital media, AI and its societal impacts, in a number of diverse settings.

You will be up for careers in the tech sector, as well as journalism, regulation, and policy work. Graduates will gain timely expertise well suited to consulting and advising positions in the public sector, well as public and private think tanks.

Academic career

If you want to proceed with advanced, research-oriented education in the field of media studies you can apply for our research master Sociology of Culture, Media and the Arts. This programme is specifically designed to prepare you to carry out research leading to a doctorate degree.

If you have demonstrated academic excellence and motivation during your Media Studies programme and your English meets the standard, you will be allowed to complete an abridged research master programme of one year.

The master Media Studies at Erasmus University counts more than 1500 graduates who completed one of the following Media Studies master specialisations: Media & Business, Media, Culture & Society, Media & Creative Industries, Media & Journalistiek (NL), and Media, Digitalisation & Social Impact.
