On Saturday 9 December the first Master Graduation Ceremony for the Master specialisation Accounting, Auditing and Control, took place in the Aula of Erasmus University Rotterdam. Erasmus School of Economics hosted 60 graduates and 250 family members.
This was the first time Erasmus School of Economics organised a plenary ceremony Accounting Auditing and Control graduates. Based on the reactions of all stakeholders this will probably be continued next year.
Michael Erkens, Associate Professor at Erasmus School of Economics, opened the ceremony and stressed that earning a master degree is the first step towards the professional and a personal development of a graduate. Today it is all about long life learning. This generation has a huge responsibility in shaping a better world.
Among the graduates were one summa cum laude graduate (Laurens van den Berg) and four cum laude graduates. There was a round table for which we invited graduate Thomas Heuijerjans and alumna Michaƫla van Velthuizen.
The Erasmus Music Collective performed during the ceremony. The host of the ceremony was Frank de Rooij, bachelor graduate Econometrics of Erasmus School of Economics and current president of study association FAECTOR.
