For the second time in a short time span, Siemens takes over a successful software company from Rotterdam. This time, it is the company TimeSeries, a company that builds digital applications for clients. Its CEO is alumnus Erik Gouka, who graduated from Erasmus School of Economics in 1996.
According to him, this acquisition was to be expected. Earlier, Siemens took over the software company Mendix, whose software is used by TimeSeries for building the applications. Gouka mentions in an FD article that they often sat around the table with Mendix’s founders, so the combination ‘just makes sense’.
Gouka was also recently interviewed by BNR on this special step for the big-data platform. In this interview, Gouka talks about what the acquisition means for TimeSeries and Siemens.
