Sanjeev Goyal elected as Fellow of the Econometric Society

Former faculty member Professor Sanjeev Goyal is elected as Fellow of the Econometric Society. The Econometric Society, which was founded in 1930, is the most prestigious Society in the Economics discipline. Each year the Society elects new fellows, and in 2018 the honour is to Sanjeev Goyal.

Sanjeev Goyal, now at the University of Cambridge, was Assistant Professor (1990-1997) and Full Professor of Mathematical Economics (1998-2001) at the Econometric Institute of Erasmus School of Economics. In those years he published his groundbreaking work in, amongst others, International Economic Review, Review of Economic Studies and Econometrica.

Sanjeev Goyal is Professor of Economics at the University of Cambridge and Fellow of Christ's College, Cambridge. He is a pioneer and leading international scholar in the economic study of networks. In 2007, Princeton University Press published his book Connections: an introduction to the economics of networks. A Chinese translation appeared in 2010. Goyal is a Fellow of the British Academy and was the founding Director of the Cambridge-INET Institute.
