Roy Thurik and Rommert Dekker achieve high placing in Best Business and Management Scientists ranking

Professor Emeritus Roy Thurik and Professor Rommert Dekker of Erasmus School of Economics have come out on top in the 2023-edition of the Best Business and Management Scientists ranking by platform Research.com.

Leading scholars

The academic platform identifies Prof. Roy Thurik and Prof. Rommert Dekker as leading scholars in the field of Business and Management (Thurik in position 67 and Dekker in 300, worldwide). 

In the national ranking, ‘Best Business and Management Scientists in the Netherlands’, Thurik holds second place and Rommert Dekker is ranked 11.

Other scholars from Erasmus University Rotterdam who have taken places within the top 15 are, Prof. Erik Hans Klijn of Erasmus School of Social and Behavioural Sciences (13), Prof. Joep Cornelissen (14) and Prof. Frans van den Bosch (15), both affiliated with Rotterdam School of Management.

About Roy Thurik and Rommert Dekker

Roy Thurik is Professor Emeritus of Economics and Entrepreneurship at Erasmus School of Economics. In November 2021 he presented his valedictory lecture.

He still holds a position as Professor of Entrepreneurship and Economics at the Montpellier Business School in France and as Director of the Centre for Advanced Small Business Economics and the Erasmus University Rotterdam Institute for Biology and Behavior.

Rommert Dekker

Rommert Dekker is Professor of Operations Research, Quantitative Logistics and IT at Erasmus School of Economics. He is well-known for work on reverse, service and sustainable logistics.

He has received numerous accolades for his research including the Impact Award of the Erasmus Research Institute for Management (which honours researchers who have successfully impacted management practice).
