The Rotterdam-Den Haag Metropolitan Area presented the Regional Exploration on Friday 13 December. The Regional Exploration of the Rotterdam-Den Haag Metropolitan Area serves as an inspiration for the region to work together to renew the economy and improve accessibility.
Two of the authors are Frank van Oort and Jeroen van Haaren. Frank van Oort is Professor of Urban and Regional Economics at Erasmus School of Economics and academic director at the Institute of Housing and Urban Development Studies (IHS) at Erasmus University Rotterdam. Jeroen van Haaren is an urban economist at the Centre for Urban, Port and Transport Economics. He specialises in quantitative spacial analysis of among others labor markets, housing and commercial real estate markets, and urban amenities.
In the Regional Exploration contains the ambitions of 23 municipalities working together in the metropolitan region. The regional study makes clear what results they have achieved and what steps still must be taken in order to renew the economy and improve accessibility. In addition, the regional study gives the facts a face and a voice. People who work on strengthening the economy and accessibility of the metropolitan region share their experience and vision. Together they explore how to continue to build a good future, because working together makes us stronger.
