Midterm Review Research: Erasmus School of Economics conducts high quality research

Logo Erasmus School of Economics

A review committee led by Prof. Harry Garretsen (University of Groningen) has recently reviewed the research done at Erasmus School of Economics during the period 2015-2017. The committee concluded that the five Erasmus School of Economics research programmes are internationally recognized and conduct very good and impactful research.

The committee notes the excellent viability of the school’s research due to the faculty’s enthusiasm to work at Erasmus School of Economics, the high level of inter-programme collaboration and the strong financial position.

The committee concludes the report with several recommendations such as to create more room in rules and regulations for various ways of individual excellence in research, and in other areas that are all relevant for the success of the School. Another important recommendation is to enhance support and recognition for efforts to increase the societal impact of research and to engage more directly with agents outside academia.

The review is based on a self-assessment provided to the committee by Erasmus School of Economics and interviews with the School’s faculty. Both the full report of the committee and the self-assessment report provided by Erasmus School of Economics to the committee are available for download.
