In memoriam: Alumnus Arie Verberk

Old CEO from Martinair and Erasmus School of Economics Alumnus Arie Verberk passed away. He studied business economics in Rotterdam with a focus on accountancy. After his studies, he became a high school teacher and the head of the accountancy department at Erasmus School of Economics. Additionally, he worked for the Dutch ministry of economic affairs. Here, he supervised the privatisation of DSM and Fokker. 

From 1995 on he started his career in the aviation industry as CFO of Martinair. Next to this, he tought computer science at the University of Amsterdam. In 2002, Verberk became CEO of Martinair. Furthermore, he is also active in the city council of Papendrecht. After his retirement in 2008, Verberk remains active in the supervisory board of Deloitte, HVC Groep, the Koninklijke Nederlandse Munt, Nedstaal and the Persgroep. Arie Verberk became 75 years old.
