At the first weekend of March, the EFR Master Study Board for Urban, Port and Transport (UPT) Economics organised a city trip to Hamburg.
On Friday, the students visited the Hapag Lloyd headquarters and met the CEO Rolf Habben Jansen, who is an alumnus of the Erasmus School of Economics. He gave the students a presentation about the company, after which the students had the opportunity to ask him questions about topics like sustainability and the new European emission regulations. It was a very open and interesting conversation. After the Q&A, the students received a tour of the magnificent office of Hapag Lloyd. On Saturday, the group explored the new neighbourhood HafenCity with an urban planner and in the afternoon they did a boat tour through the harbour. Overall, it was a fun and educational weekend and a great opportunity to meet a successful alumnus abroad!
