Prof. dr. Ivo Arnold has been appointed as the new Director of the Department of Economics as of 1 April 2022. He will be succeeding Prof. dr. Otto Swank, who has been leading the department successfully for almost fourteen years.
As Director, Otto Swank is responsible for research and education provided by the department. From 1 April 2022 on, he plans to get more time for research and teaching.
“It has been a pleasure to work as the Director of the Department of Economics. I operated in an environment where my colleagues were happy with successes but willing to forgive my failures”, says Otto Swank. “The path to excellence in research and teaching is long but worth following. I am sure Ivo will guide us further on this path.”
Ivo Arnold is a Professor of Economics at Erasmus School of Economics and Nyenrode Business University, his main research areas are monetary economics, financial markets & institutions and economic education. He served as Programme Director and Vice Dean at Erasmus School of Economics for more than 11 years.
